God Dag! (Good Morning in Swedish)

I forgot to adjust our clocks last night for daylight saving times, so when I got up this morning the sun was just rising. It was really quite colorful, lots of pinks & blues. I tried to capture as best as I could.

The fall foliage season in Texas is pretty short, so when I walked out to the backyard this morning and saw some of the trees changing color, I thought I would share a couple of those photos too.

D.C. Trip / Glory Days

I feel I am a very fortunate person, I have a great wife and 2 very bright kids. I also am lucky enough to have some very close friends. Most of us started playing football and other sports when we were seven and we played together through high school. We don't see each other as much as we would like, but when we get together, the conversation is never forced and it feels comfortable to be around them and their wives.

The last of us (Pat Dickson) just turned 40 two weeks ago. Pat's wife Jenny organized a surprise party for him, she was able to get people from Denver, Dallas, and Cleveland to D.C., without Pat knowing about it. From what Jenny told us, Pat was pretty grumpy the whole week because she was so vague about his birthday plans. _ Amy can confirm I would NEVER be like that. (insert sarcasm)

Needless to say when you get 5 guys from childhood together, we tend to reminisce. It was a weekend of Glory Day stories, golf, good food and drink. - If you would like to see more photos go to my Facebook page ( kevin heglund)

Aunt Bea's 75th Birthday

The Sisters, the Japanese gardens pale in comparison to these flowers.
Mikey and his youngest daughter.
Sharon, yours truly, and Suzy.

Gail, Bob, and Uncle Johnny (I think he's praying)

Party animals! Good thing they had the party in a cage!

Debbie and Tommy

Don't be fooled, I think they're hiding something

The birthday girl

Here are just a few pics of Aunt B's birthday party. The bear cage was just the right size and in one of the pictures you can see they covered the r in bear the spell Bea (cute right).
Suzy's daughters are in the background of the picture of Gail and Bob, the oldest is #@!&* 30! Uncle Johnny is recovering well from his heart surgery and Aunt Annie is just how we all remember.
Mikey, Cheryl, Teddy, Mark, Suzy, and Debbie were all there. They all pitched in to cook for everyone; they brought horseshoes etc.
Cheryl and I had a lot to chat about and I'm hoping she and her daughters come down to visit. She and Aubrey have a lot in common. Her oldest April is starting at Western this year and seems to be doing very well. Mikey is a avid hunter and was really excited to hear that Paula and Dave share his interest! (Paula I think you may have house guests soon!:0))
I wasn't able to see John while I was in town but he's done a ton to the house and it looks great. I missed Rich too so it was me, Mom ,and Sharon all afternoon. I talked Mom into staying till the end; I caught her bolting for the car a couple of times.
Weather was great, and I spent some time with Mike and Caroline, but I have yet to prove it! ( Mike if I have to threaten you again believe me I will! )

Welcome to the dark side

How awful that we would rather blog uninterrupted and without challenge than pick up the phone; well regardless this is it. Don't expect laboring rantings about my workout routine or complaining about spouses (that I do privately over a drink with real friends). I apologize in advance for offence, language, and inappropriate content, don't say I didn't warn. Now with disclosures aside let the "fun" begin. Love Auntie Amy
